Students should seek program advisement from both their major (teaching field area) advisor and from 5-12 & K-12 Secondary (KSP) faculty. Major (teaching field area) advisors guide students in selecting their major coursework, while KSP faculty guide students through individual and group advising sessions. Secondary 5-12 & k-12 students are admitted to the College of their teaching field area, e.g. social studies teaching majors are admitted to the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Coordinator of Professional Education and Student Relations Coordinator conduct advising sessions within the professional education blocks. The topics include professional education admission, appropriate sequencing of coursework, Praxis I and II testing, student teaching information and licensure application.
