Mankato Airport - KMKT
- Plan to attend the Runway Extension Dedication to be held at the Mankato Regional Airport, 3030 Airport Road, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 6. Everyone is welcome to view displays and get a tour of the facility. Refreshments will be served. Register to win an airplane ride through Mankato’s river valley. The project involved reconstructing runway 15-33 and extending it from 5,400 to 6,600 feet, which will now accommodate airplanes as large as a 757. An environmental assessment study, land acquisition and airspace rezoning were all a part of the $12 million federal, state and city partnership. In addition to the reconstruction of the runway, the project also includes a new subdrain system and a new high intensity lighting system to upgrade the airport.
