After 10 years of devoted work in the Center for Mentoring & Induction, Dr. Lori Bird has accepted a position with the New Teacher Center as a Program Consultant for the Midwest region. We are excited for the opportunity Dr. Bird has to broaden her already large impact into the New Teacher Center.
To continue Dr. Bird's legacy, we welcome Carol Burns and April Rosendale as the new directors of CMI. Carol has been Assistant Director, and now will move into her role as the Mentor Development and Support Coordinator. April has been trained through New Teacher Center, and will act as the Interim Director of Instructional Mentoring for the 2015-2016 school year.
The mission of the Center for Mentoring & Induction is to provide quality professional development experiences that help all teachers become more confident, capable, and effective practitioners.
The Future of Support
The Center for Mentoring & Induction has developed a model of support for educators that spans pre-service to in-service. This means impacting MSU-Mankato students who are in preparation to become professional educators in a collaborative and supportive way, and continuing to support them even after they obtain employment in schools.
