The three M.S.-degree programs of the Department of Counseling and Student Personnel at Minnesota State University Mankato are dedicated to preparing its graduates to understand and serve the real-world needs of clients and students in K-12, higher education, and mental health settings.
College Student Affairs is a broad program designed to prepare individuals for positions on the college campus in counseling, admissions, financial aid, student housing, student activities, career development and student affairs administration.
The Professional School Counseling Program of study prepares students for Minnesota state licensure as a K-12 professional school counselor to counsel students, individually and in groups, who are in the process of personal, educational, and career development.
The Mental Health Counseling Program prepares individuals through coursework and supervised experience to serve in a variety of clinical settings: mental health centers, family counseling and community agencies; consultation in business and industry settings; career counseling settings; and private practice.
