Biblio/Media Therapy Resources

This biblio/mediatherapy section is designed to offer suggestions of publications and media resources which may be of potential use in a variety of K-12 school settings for the professional school counselor. Resources are reviewed annually by Minnesota State University, Mankato, interns. Each review is downloaded for further consideration by the reader.

A caveat! The reviewers of these resources have applied their own individual standards for the appropriateness of materials for the specific age groups identified. It is up to practitioners to make their own judgments regarding the utility and appropriateness of each resource within their respective school environments, communities, and clientele.

At the end of Phase 2 in the 2004 academic year, more than 600 biblio/mediatherapy resources are available to school counseling practitioners. While interns are encouraged to avoid duplication of resources-and this is becoming more and more a challenge as we near the 1,000 resource mark by the completion of Phase 3 in 2006-at times a resource may become relevant for utilization in a different fashion at different grade levels. So, if you see duplication of titles, it should be an indication of a different utilization of the same resource. If not, please let us know immediately.
