Introduction
to the peer mediation process directly relates to Minnesota Graduation Standard
Number 7. Students will learn how
to defend a position in an issue by understanding the history, facts,
controversy, values, and beliefs of the students involved in the dispute.
It
also relates to the Career Development Competencies in the area of self-knowledge. Students will, specifically, develop
skills to interact with others.
This will benefit them in times of mediation and also when dealing with
students, teachers, and other adults.
