Welcome to Minnesota State Mankato's Department of Educational Leadership. Housed in the Department of Educational Leadership are three educational tracks: Educational Leadership, Educational Leadership (K–12), and Experiential Education, which lead to master's degrees, specialist degrees, and licensures. The Department of Educational Leadership is also home to the Center for Engaged Leadership and the Adventure Education Program. The blend of practice and theory offers an extraordinary experience, preparing graduates and practitioners for their roles in LEADING THE FUTURE.
The Master of Science in Educational Leadership and the Specialist in Educational Leadership provides a flexible background for those who wish to tailor their program for a specific purpose, as well as for those who wish to have a broad background.
Both the Master's in Educational Leadership and the Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership provide professional preparation for school administrators, including licensure options for K–12 Principal, Superintendent, Director of Community Education, Director of Special Education.
The Master of Science degree in Experiential Education is a flexible program consisting of a mixture of classroom and field based courses totaling 34 credits. The program is designed for strongly self–directed individuals who want to experiment with new educational ideas.
