Criteria to apply for admission to the doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership at Minnesota State University Mankato are listed below. All of the documents must be submitted in order to be considered for admission.
The Ed.D. program admits students for the fall semester only.
We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2010 semester.
THE FOLLOWING IS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE COLLEGE OF GRADUATE STUDIES OFFICE:
Applicants must apply for admission to the College of Graduate Studies and Research. The admission requirements include (but are not limited to):
Two official transcripts from institutions(s) you have previously attended. Students who attended Minnesota State Mankato do not have to arrange for transcripts from this institution. Applicants who were educated at overseas institutions must arrange for a credential evaluation to be submitted as part of their application. The evaluation must be written by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
GRE Test scores. Test scores must be within the last 5 years. Send test scores to the College of Graduate Studies and Research directly from the Educational Testing Service. Minnesota State Mankato's ETS code is 6677. Official scores already on file for students who were previously admitted to a graduate program at Minnesota State University, Mankato will meet this requirement. Photocopies of scores will not be accepted.

In addition to the requirements for admission listed above, the following items are to be submitted all together and directly to the Department of Educational Leadership:
Curriculum vita or résumé
Three letters of reference addressing the applicant's ability to persevere and successfully complete a doctoral program. The three required letters of reference must be from parties outside the Department of Educational Leadership. However, as a supplement to the three letters from outside the department, you may include letters of reference from the Department of Educational Leadership provided the department member is not part of the doctoral application screening committee.
A written proposal (maximum of 5-7 pages double-spaced) that includes the following:
A description of skills and attributes that will enable the applicant to successfully complete an Ed.D. program
A description of career goals and how this degree will help the applicant achieve these goals.
A description of potential research/dissertation topics the applicant might investigate.
Deadline for applications for acceptance for the Fall 2010 semester are due by 4pm on April 1, 2010.
Successful applicants will be notified by mail regarding their approval status.
