Experiential educators may be interested in our EdD in Educational Leadership. This doctoral program is flexible and we anticipate the program will be attractive to a wide variety of people active in the field of Experiential Education. Under our Department's philosophical interpretation of Experiential Education, we beleive the encapsulating application of Experiential Learning extends across many professions. We are committed to students who have creative and innovative passions to apply towards learning through experiential methodologies.

Minnesota State University, Mankato Will Begin a Doctoral Program (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership Beginning Fall Semester 2009

Doctor of Education (Ed.D.)–Educational Leadership

Located in the Department of Educational Leadership, the doctorate in educational leadership will be a practice–oriented program resulting in the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree. The program will consist of 56 credits beyond the master's degree, which will address the professional development needs of educational leaders. The degree is designed for educational practitioners who seek an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership in order to obtain positions as PK–12 public school administrators, leaders of alternative educational organizations and charter schools, administrators of nonprofit organizations, administrators in higher education, leaders in experiential education organizations, or as university/college faculty. The program will address the need for advanced preparation of educational leaders and will focus on applied research in the field of education. The program of study will be designed in consultation with an advisor and combine core courses, professional development colloquia, research, internship, and dissertation credits with other learning experiences so students may pursue their unique educational and professional passions and goals. The program will be grounded in strategies for adult learning and the development of inquiry research.
