Admission to the College of Education’s Literacy Program can be done as a degree-seeking (as part of a Master’s program) or non-degree seeking . Listed below are the steps required by Minnesota State University, Mankato and the College of Education. Non-degree seeking option - for those taking only the first course in the in the program
- Completed Application for Graduate Study(145KB PDF). Please note that this is a two page application. Page two must be submitted in duplicate. An online application is also available
- Two official transcripts from the degree–granting institution(s)
- Completed immunization form(53KB PDF)
- Evidence of 2.75 GPA or a GRE score of 500 (minimum) on one or more portions of the exam
- Non–degree applicants are not required to pay an application fee. A $40 fee is required of applicants applying to a degree program.
- Register for classes upon admission to the Graduate College.
Degree seeking option - Master’s of Science in Educational Studies (Early Childhood or Elementary Education), Reading Licensure and/or certificate:
- Copy of current licensure
- Completed Application for Graduate Study(145KB PDF). Please note that this is a two page application. Page two must be submitted in duplicate. An online application is also available
- Two official transcripts from the degree–granting institution(s)
- Completed immunization form(53KB PDF)
- Evidence of 2.75 GPA or a GRE score of 500 (minimum) on one or more portions of the exam
- Payment of $40 fee to the College of Graduate Studies & Research
- Letter addressed to coordinator of graduate programs stating interest for admission
- A Recommendation Form addressing the professional competence of interested candidates from school administrator.
