To receive the Minnesota K-12 Reading Licensure, all applicants must pass the Praxis II Reading Specialist. The test is offered through the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and all tests are offered on six different Saturdays scheduled throughout the academic year.
ETS has a website that offers in-depth information, preparation hints and tests-at-a-glance. Go to http://www.ets.org and click on the PRAXIS link on the main page. From here you can look at state requirements, tests-at-a-glance (TAAG), and test preparation booklets such as General Information and Study Tips (PDF) and Reducing Test Anxiety (PDF).
For state teacher testing requirements, go to http://education.state.mn.us/mde/Teacher_Support/Educator_Licensing/Teacher_Testing_Requirements/index.html
Registration materials including inserts listing required tests for each teaching field and sample registrations are available outside the College of Education Academic Advising Office, Armstrong Hall 117, 507-389-1215.
