In 2006, a scholarship was established to honor Ms. Enid Smale, a professor in Business Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Ms. Smale served as a leader in business education in the state of Minnesota and is providing an annual $5,000.00 award to a student pursuing a degree in business education.
Two $5,000.00 awards are presented each semester to initial licensure students pursuing a degree in business education who have successfully completed their course work and are applying for student teaching. The awards will be based on Merit and/or Needs and may be used to offset expenses incurred during student teaching at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The $5,000.00 award is available to the award recipient for his/her educational expenses during the University's typical academic calendar. University disbursement rules will apply.
The Enid Smale Scholarship Award Committee will be responsible for providing the Department of Educational Studies K-12 and Secondary Programs and the College of Education with the name and background information of the award recipients.
