On-line Cohort

The on-line cohort starts every fall and candidates may complete the program in 24 months. Coursework is offered via Desire to Learn (D2L) during the fall, spring, and summer semesters, with periodic face to face evaluation and training periods.

The coursework is divided into four distinct transitions points. The first transition point, Orientation and Evaluation occurs at the beginning of the program during the first class meeting on Monday evening from 4:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. with course work occurring on-line the following weeks throughout the fall semester. This structure of orientation and evaluation occurring at the beginning of the semester with course work completed on-line occurs in the fall and spring of each semester throughout the program, with the final evaluation occurring at the end of the course work and prior to the internship. At each transition point candidates are assessed based on their skills, knowledge and dispositions. In addition to course work within the program, candidates must participate in field-based coursework (See Field Experience).

Note: Any candidate without a MN teaching license or current teaching license must address these deficiencies prior to participating in the internship and completing the Library Media Education program.
