The Pre-Professional Skills Test (Praxis I) is an exam of basic skills required for all beginning teachers. Before acceptance into professional education candidates need to pass the PPST with the following scores: Math 171, Reading 173, and Writing 172.
All candidates admitted into MN TAPP must have a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following licensable areas: Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, Mathematics, Business Education, and English as a Second Language (TESL), and be hired by public school system on a limited license and assigned their own classroom.
An evaluation of your transcripts will aide in determining any deficiencies you may have and the types of content course work needed for licensure.
Yes. Although, the program is designed for candidates who have content courses to take in order to meet licensure requirements, each candidate will need to meet with content specialist to determine when and where the content courses are offered.
Yes. In fact, courses offered in the fall and spring semesters in MN TAPP will be all on-line.
