We are pleased to announce our opening featured address by the author of My Kindergarten and Emily’s First 100 Days of School: “An Evening with Rosemary Wells” Friday May 5, 2006. Rosemary Wells’ career as an author and illustrator spans more than thirty years and 60 books. She has won numerous awards, and has given readers such unforgettable characters as Timothy, Max and Ruby, and Noisy Nora. She also spearheaded a campaign for early literacy nationwide under the name “Read to Your Bunny—the Most Important Twenty Minutes of Your Day.”
Entertaining us Friday evening is Dennis Warner, a respected Minnesota songwriter, folk musician, host of Jammin' with Dennis Warner (on NPR radio affiliates), and guest on numerous TV and radio shows. His unique blend of music and humor brings him to well over 100 cities each year. One of his songs, Beads on One String, became a children's book and is now in its second printing. The song teaches about the negative effects of bullying and the positive effects of recognizing our "connectedness" in the world.
