The Elementary Education (BS) program provides students with the preparation necessary to become effective, culturally responsive teachers at the elementary level. Upon successful completion of this premier Elementary Education preparation program, students are recommended for K-6 teaching licensure.
The Elementary Education program prepares elementary teacher candidates for twenty-first century schools. Students in the program develop necessary skills, knowledge and dispositions to create socially just classrooms for all learners.

During the first two years, students complete program requirements designed to build knowledge of content across multiple disciplines. During the final two years, students are admitted into a cohort.
Standards for teaching evolve and change therefore you may qualify for a Minnesota Teaching License today but if you wait to apply you may find that standards have changed.
