About Elementary Education

The B.S. in Elementary Education in Mankato and the Metro is designed to prepare elementary teaching candidates to thrive as leaders in 21st-century classrooms. Built on a foundation of equity and accessibility, the curriculum and field experience are designed with real-world preparation in mind.

Our teacher candidates graduate with three times the state-required level of classroom experience in a variety of grade levels and settings. Our program goes above and beyond requirements because we believe it’s crucial to provide future teachers opportunities for real world connections and practical, hands-on learning.

  • Semester-long Blocks allow students to progress together toward graduation, building from foundational coursework to in-classroom experience.
