Fall 2026 Aviation Enrollment Process
Aviation Admission Process
Admission into the aviation program is met through applying first to the University.
To best support our aviation students, all aviation courses are offered on a first-come, first-served basis for students in the Aviation B.S. program, including all emphases: Professional Flight, Aviation Management, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
Registration for aviation courses takes place during the orientation sessions, which will be held between April and July 2026 (available both in-person and online). Signing up for an Orientation session will open on February 1, 2026, and is also first-come, first-served. We strongly encourage you to register for orientation as early as possible to ensure the best opportunity to enroll in your desired aviation courses. You will receive an email with detailed orientation instructions—either in January 2026 or shortly after your admission, depending on when you are accepted to the university.
If ground school and flight lab aviation courses for the fall semester are full at the time of your orientation, you may begin your ground school and/or flight lab courses in the Spring 2027 semester, and an advisor will be able to provide you a degree completion plan based on that spring start.
Additional Deadlines and Documentation Required:
- A valid FAA Third-Class Medical Certificate: Required by August 1, 2026, for enrollment in any flight lab for Fall 2026. We recommend scheduling your medical exam well in advance with an FAA-authorized Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).
- Private Pilot Certificate: If you hold or plan to complete a Private Pilot Certificate before entering our program, you must submit documentation by August 1, 2026, to be eligible for enrollment in our Instrument-level courses.
Please see our program website for additional details about the program, including the checklist with instructions for document submission for new domestic or international students. We are excited to support you on your journey toward a career in aviation and look forward to welcoming you into the program.
