I was a transfer student and came to Mankato with some ratings so a little non traditional. That being said I couldn’t have asked for a better fit. The "smaller" school feel and one on one time with professors was exactly what I needed. It led to leadership roles such as Oshkosh, Aviation Banquet, and team teaching. All of these opportunities during my time as a student I was able to add to my resume for options post graduation to stay involved on campus with the airlines I worked at. Now at Delta Air Lines it has all truly come full circle and I enjoy helping others get to the places they want to be. I now get to visit about once a month for work and socially. Keeping a familiar face on campus means a lot to me and the students.

I am grateful for my experience in the Aviation Management Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Not only did I acquire essential knowledge about the aviation industry, but I also obtained my Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial ASEL, and AMEL certifications, thanks to the comprehensive training provided by the program. The hands-on approach and curriculum prepared me for the complexities of the aviation industry. From navigating regulations to understanding the world of flight operations, I gained invaluable insights that have propelled my career forward. The support and guidance of the faculty members greatly contributed to my success. Their expertise and dedication to students created an environment of growth and learning, enabling me to excel both academically and professionally. Today, as a Flight Operations Pilot Recruiter for Sun Country Airlines, I often use the skills and expertise that I gained during my time at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The program's emphasis on practical experience and industry relevance has equipped me to identify and recruit top talent for our airline. As I continue my journey in the aviation industry, I am confident in my abilities to face the challenges ahead, all thanks to the education I received. I am proud to be an alumnus of such a successful program.
