College of Education Hosts Engagement Fair: EdFest

The College of Education's engagement fair, EdFest, will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the CSU Ballroom. This year's theme: Get Connected. Get Involved. All College of Education students, staff, and faculty are invited. EdFest is a fun opportunity for students to connect with fellow classmates, meet new people, and get to know their current and future faculty.

EdFest includes music, prizes, free food, informational booths, tabletop topics, and fun connecting with others. Additionally, there will be a photo booth and Stomper  will be joining us. Students are encouraged to attend for whatever timeframe works for their schedule.

Free t-shirts while supplies last. Join us for a free lunch, a chance for prizes, and fun with your fellow students!

Prizes:

For every Info Booth or Tabletop Session visited, students will receive one prize ticket. For every ticket a student collects, they may enter themselves into the prize drawings. MANY prizes will be available!


Info Booths:

In addition to music, prizes, photo booth (selfie station), and walking tacos for lunch, several Info Booths will be available for students to learn more about college opportunities and resources. Info Booths include:

  • Learning Communities
  • Teachers of Tomorrow (ToT)
  • Scholarships
  • Aviation department
  • Special Education department
  • Elementary & Literacy Education department
  • K – 12 & Secondary Programs department
  • Licensure Info
  • Student Teaching
  • Educators for Equity
  • Grad Teaching Fellow
  • Military Science/ROTC

Tabletop Topics Schedule:

Every 15 minutes, there will be a ‘Tabletop Topic’ mini presentation. These sessions are designed to assist students in learning more on the topic and allow for any questions to be answered.

  • Basic Skills: 11:15 AM and again at 12:15 PM. Are you a future teacher? Learn about testing requirements, costs, timelines and resources available to help as you prepare to take your exams.
  • Licensure: 11:30 AM and again at 12:30 PM. Future teachers…did you know we have a staff member designated to assist you with your licensure process? This session will provide general information on the licensure process, the types of licensures that are available and requirements associated with each type.
  • Scholarships: 11:45 AM and again at 12:45 PM. How about a little financial assistance to help you pursue your education? Did you know the College of Education (COE) awards more scholarship dollars than any college at the university? Come learn about available opportunities for all COE students and receive tips on how to submit a high-quality scholarship application.
