Coaching Cycles to Develop Effective Teaching (CCET)

The Center for Educator Support (CES), University Faculty and Supervisors, and Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSAs) are committed to providing essential support for pre-service teacher candidates through highly effective mentoring processes during all of the stages of teacher preparation, from their first classroom experience in the field through their culminating semester in student teaching.

A key component to the support is to provide mentor teachers with New Teacher Center: Coaching Cycles for Equitable Learning (CCEL). Through this mentoring relationship with the teacher candidates, University Supervisors and TOSAs have embraced New Teacher Center’s formative assessment and support (FAS) processes validated through research. These tried-and-true strategies will ensure our teacher candidates experience growth through personalized learning opportunities that result in an accelerated level of practice as a pre-service teacher and lead them to becoming a high-quality beginning educator, as a graduate from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
